Update on Isabelle

Isabelle has had some swollen lymph nodes on her neck for a number of months now. We have been watching them closely. The ENT we went to see today has suggested we do a biopsy to rule out anything serious. While we think that this is probably nothing we also feel it is good to check and be sure. Her biopsy is scheduled for 2 weeks from today. When we get more info we will pass it along!

March Madness Has Struck.

Though March has been met with a bit of sadness (Kentucky-why have you betrayed me so?), we are still filling out our brackets and watching lots of basketball. So here are our brackets, boys versus girls! Seeing as my first choice of teams is not even in the tournament this year (sigh,sniff,tear), my next loyalty lies within our city! So, with much pain, I have to say GO CARDS!

It's almost spring, what else is there to say?

Abby's meet today went really well. There were 18 girls in her division, which this time included 7 & 8 year olds. The top awards went to 8 year olds. They gave awards for the top 9 in each event and Abby won a medal in each event. She
was 7th overall. But it was also a very close competition. For example- the 1st place on beam scored a 9.45 and Abby had a 9.3. She did perform really well and we are very proud of her. Next up....State! (that happens in April so we have a few weeks to prepare!) Enjoy the videos!

Latest Gymnastics Meet.

Results: 1st- Beam, 2nd-Floor, 4th-Vault, 5th-Bars, 3rd All-Around. Abby's meet started strong, then ended with some mistakes. All in all she did well. (On a side note, I rented a great lens for my new camera for the competition. I got some great pictures!!!!!) Good job Abby, we are all very proud of you.

Pictures from the ice/snow storm of '09

We received power back on Thursday night and are settled back in our house. We still have many friends without power and thousands of others both in our city and across our state without power and some without water. Please continue to pray for our state, it's a mess! But here are some fun pictures. (note how thick the ice is on our fence, which is under our carport, it was even thicker on the powerlines, etc.)







This tree is nothing but ice, no snow, just ice. Fortunately this tree survived the storm and is standing up straight again. (these branches don't touch the ground on a normal day!)

Ice Storm '09!!

Some of you may have heard that there was a bit of storm that just moved through. Or as Jim Cantore of The Weather Channel called it "a Crippling Ice Storm". That was not much of an exageration. We are currently without power, along with about 200,000 other homes. Not much power is restored as of yet. I have pictures, but since the computer at home is not working I can't upload them. So, until the lights are home (and the house has heated up!) we will update the blog. Until then here is to staying warm. (and thanks to my in-laws for allowing us to crash at their house indefinitely!)
